Water Spring

2010 installation with SKETCH and Evergreen deliniating between bodies of water, our selves and how we use water in our cities.

Facilitating the conceptualization, design and build of this woven sculpture was a very fulfilling process. The six youth and Sue Cohen from SKETCH work tirelessly for five weeks in August processing upcycled fabric, clay and bark to weave and paint this monument to our intervenions in the Hydrological cycle, wrapped around a industrial scale water storage cistern. Evergreen Brick Works houses 16 of these cisterns on site to offset city water use in horticulture and educate the public in their new environmental community center in the Don valley of Toronto. see evergreen.ca for more info.
