InnoVent

THESE PAINTING ARE A PART OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT CREATED FOR InnoVent IN 2007 WITHIN FRANCE BY MR. ZIGLER AND MISS GIFFORD.

In the course of the assessment of the nine sites, we found that, after a review of research available, the risk of collision to the majority of species is likely to be minimal, although where such minimal collision constitutes a significant impact for a specific species considered of concern in terms of population, we recommend that a seasonal period of observation be carried out after the implementation of the project to ensure that the impact to these sensitive species is not significant. In addition, the risk of disturbance to the species currently inhabiting the site could be significant if certain sensitive areas are not avoided. Therefore, we recommend that certain sensitive habitats are protected, especially during the most disruptive phases of the project, namely, construction and maintenance. In the event that the proposed construction cannot be re-situated in less sensitive habitat (as with certain hedgerows, for example), we recommend that these habitats be relocated to a distance at which impact from the project would be minimal, and in addition, that similar habitat be installed to redress the disruption caused in the long term, again at a distance which ensures that the occupants of this new habitat are not likely to be impacted by the wind turbines. This work should be carried out under supervision by suitably qualified persons with expertise in the sensitivities of relocation and installation of wildlife habitat (such as microclimate, aspect, etc.) and in consultation with land owners and users.
